<BernieRoehl> Anyone want to suggest an alternative topic?
<krista-F> gee i was just going to say how much i like my piercings....lol
<jewel`{F}> i love all my piercings
<jewel`{F}> not sure how i would feel about branding
<BernieRoehl> I've seen a branding done. The smell of burning flesh is.... memorable
<krista-F> i would imagine so!!
<Achilles{tr}> Why was the branding being done BernieRoehl?
<BernieRoehl> It was at Black Rose, and I never did find out the background behind it
<Achilles{tr}> Was the sub/target bound?
<BernieRoehl> Yes, quite securely
<BernieRoehl> She almost passed out
<Achilles{tr}> What was the reaction after the pain had subsided a bit? tears? Relief? joy?
<BernieRoehl> She was shaking for a good long time
<jen{SE}> i had a cutting done, the tears were from joy.. not pain
<jewel`{F}> what sort of healing time would there be for a branding? and what sort of special care do they require while healing?
<BernieRoehl> No idea
<jen{SE}> if the ritual branding or cutting is done as part of a Master/slave marking, it is highly emotional
<Achilles{tr}> This could be a difficult discussion to get off the ground with no resident expert. <chuckles>
<jewel`{F}> it was the same for my hood piercing jen{SE}
<jen{SE}> just imagine the first time your Dominant placed Their collar around your neck...
<jen{SE}> *smiles* @ jewel`{F}
* delyssa cringes at the thought of any piercing, other than ears.
* jen{SE} no piercing no branding, so no knowledge
* delyssa also fully admits she's a suck when it comes to stuff like that
<victoria_angel> if i may, i'd rather have put bars in both my nipples, than rings, with what i know now, but this was for my case
<victoria_angel> at first that is
<ayrn> why bars instead of rings?
<victoria_angel> well, firstly, after they were healed, i had to return to the tattooist to have them changed - they were balls, locked onto the rings by clamps
<victoria_angel> where as, the bar, could have the little ball screwed off on either side
<krista-F> i just got mine done at the end of feb.and i have bars.they heal better...especially if you have heavy breasts
<victoria_angel> as well
<victoria_angel> i have wide nipples
<victoria_angel> 1/2"
<victoria_angel> anyways
<victoria_angel> i was in a car crash,
<victoria_angel> one was broken in the crash
<delyssa> uhm, ouch
<ayrn> oh dear
<victoria_angel> so, when i had it removed and replaced, the bar would not go in straight, so i got repierced
<victoria_angel> the rings healed curved
<victoria_angel> the bars straighter
<victoria_angel> so, to push the new bar though, you have to do a bit of fishin
<victoria_angel> in the ring side
<victoria_angel> and ya, i had no broken bones - the doc found the broken piercing when she was checking me out - grin
<victoria_angel> but care is esential!
<ayrn> Does anyone know how easy is it to do the opposite, that is, a ring in a bar hole?
<victoria_angel> that i easy
<victoria_angel> like putting on earrings
<jewel`{F}> myself i never had any problems changing from rings to bars or back
<victoria_angel> and the advantage, i know from bars, is that you can change the guage easier, allowing for stronger bars, and those dreaded {wink} weights that Dom/mes favor
<ayrn> lol
<victoria_angel> anyways, i plan to wear a chain between the two piercings, so, i need versatility, which i have with bars which can be easily removed
<ayrn> It seems that bars are the way to go
<shareena> i have rings and never had a problem with them
<victoria_angel> i prefer bars, but it depends on the size of your nipples
<victoria_angel> and i also had mine done AFTER i completed my family
<krista-F> i have not had one bit of problem with mine..and im diabetic...which can be an issue as well
<victoria_angel> and after i had my last mamogramm
<krista-F> victoria_angel...i got mine for my 52nd birthday...
<victoria_angel> lol, wonderful
<shareena> i got mine for A's birthday
<victoria_angel> i became brave at 40
<shareena> it was a present to him
<krista-F> good for you va
<victoria_angel> as was mine - for my hubby, as a morale booster
<victoria_angel> valentines two years ago
<krista-F> my h didn't even know i had it done....he was in florida.......and is vanilla
<krista-F> finds them yucky to look at......lol
<shareena> was he surprised krista-F?
<krista-F> i told him on the phone when he called one day from florida
<victoria_angel> i do have a remark about branding
<krista-F> no...he knows im a bit different shareena
<victoria_angel> i have not seen it done, but did know/talk to someone who did, and she said that hers was small, but was like healing a very severe burn
<shareena> i would think it would be
<victoria_angel> i guess, if i could compare that, the 'mark left' would be the blistered area
* shareena shudders at the idea of branding
<victoria_angel> she used polysporin and was very, very careful about infection
<victoria_angel> me too shareena
<victoria_angel> i guess what bothers me, is that it remains there, unlike a tattoo, which could be removed, and so the person, you have it done for, should your relationship not continue, you would carry that mark
<Achilles{tr}> I suspect that is a great partof the attraction for those who go ahead with getting a brand.
<Achilles{tr}> The permanence.
<victoria_angel> btw, if anyone here is pierced in both nipples and hood area, i understand that the clit/hood is MUCH MUCH easier
<victoria_angel> true Achilles{tr}
<victoria_angel> i think though, i would wear the slave mark, rather than anything else
<victoria_angel> therefore it would identify me as slave, not as someones 'trademark'
<jen{SE}> very true Achilles{tr}
<victoria_angel> one neat (well might not be neat to some) experience, was when i had an MRI - the piercings heated up, and moved slightly - which i though was wierd, as the MRI is magnetic and i have titanium for my piercing jewelery....
<victoria_angel> didn't think that titanium was magnetic - dah
<jen{SE}> and also victoria_angel, even if the relationship were to end, i would still have been His property, so it is part of my history, part of what made me who i am, so would not fear wearing it for life.
<victoria_angel> yes jen{SE}, i understand that
<victoria_angel> but i think that in the case of the person i know, she wore a unique symbol, and so that would maybe bother me, because, if i were not with that person, it might offend or bother my next partner
<jen{SE}> that is something that would have to be worked out with the next partner, one cannot make one's past disappear... but everyone is different
<victoria_angel> yes, very true jen{SE}
<victoria_angel> and my partners have never been in the public venue, or would know anyone here
* jen{SE} *smiles*, cause it's not like we are all virgins here, we all bear marks of some sort from pervious relationships, some visible some not
<victoria_angel> i am curious though, personally, for those done in clit, hood area - is about 'position' which is better than others
<victoria_angel> do you leave it up to the tattoo artist to 'pick a spot' or is there a preference
<jewel`{F}> when my hood was done the woman that did spent a lot of time examining my hood, showing Master the pros and cons of the horizontal or veritcal piercings, He decided from there which to have done
<ModBot> There are only about five minutes left in the formal part of tonight's discussion. Does anyone have any last-minute thoughts on the subject?
<victoria_angel> and how many do you have jewel`{F}
<jewel`{F}> total piercings i have 3
<jewel`{F}> hood, both nipples
<BernieRoehl> Well, turned out to be an interesting enough topic after all
